Returns & Shipping Policy

Applicable to Canada and United States orders
1. Order Acceptance & Payment
Orders are accepted as follows:
- Cash customers: upon successful payment (Visa, MasterCard)
- Credit (Net 30) customers: upon issuance of an Order Confirmation, subject to credit approval
Robertson Plastics reserves the right to:
- Refuse or cancel any order at its sole discretion
- Cancel orders due to pricing errors, stock inaccuracies, or system issues
2. Pricing & Errors
While we strive for accuracy, errors in pricing, availability, or specifications may occur.
Robertson Plastics reserves the right to:
- Correct any errors
- Cancel or refuse any order affected by such errors, even after order submission
3. Shipping Terms & Risk
3.1 Shipping Responsibility
- Shipments are arranged by Robertson Plastics unless otherwise specified
- All shipping costs are paid by the customer unless agreed otherwise
3.2 Transfer of Risk
- All risk of loss or damage transfers to the customer once the order is handed to the carrier
- This applies regardless of who arranges the shipment
3.3 Freight Terms
- Shipments may be sent prepaid and charged or freight collect, depending on the order
- Any freight discrepancies must be resolved with the carrier
3.4 Carrier Delays
- Robertson Plastics is not responsible for carrier delays, transit times, or delivery performance
3.5 Inspection on Delivery
- Customers must inspect shipments within 3 days of delivery
- Any damage, shortage, or discrepancy must be reported within this timeframe
Failure to report within 3 days may result in denial of claims.
4. Returns & RMA Process
4.1 General Policy
- Standard return window: 30 days from purchase date
- Chemicals and coatings: 14 days from purchase date
4.2 Return Eligibility
To qualify for return:
- Item must be unused, in original condition and packaging
- Proof of purchase is required
- A Return Material Authorization (RMA) must be obtained prior to return

4.3 RMA Requirements
- RMA must be clearly marked on shipment
- Returns must be shipped within 7 days of RMA issuance
- Unauthorized returns may be refused
4.4 Inspection & Approval
- All returns are subject to inspection and approval
- Approval or rejection will be communicated upon receipt
5. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are final sale and non-returnable:
- Custom cut or fabricated materials
- Off-cut plastics
- Pre-cut plastics
- Material cut from a roll
- Special order items
- Clearance items
- Food-grade packaging (bags, pails, bottles, closures)
- Any item marked “Final Sale” or “Non-Returnable”
6. Restocking & Refunds
- Approved returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee
- Partial returns may result in recalculation of pricing tiers
Refunds:
- Issued to original payment method
- Processed within 14 days of approval
7. Defective Products
If a product is determined to be defective:
Robertson Plastics reserves the right to:
- Replace the product
- Issue a refund
- Approve or deny return shipping coverage
This determination is made at our sole discretion.
8. Return Shipping
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise approved
- Shipments must be sent prepaid
- Collect shipments may be refused
Recommendations:
- Use trackable shipping
- Insure shipments where appropriate
If a return is damaged in transit:
- Customer must file claim with carrier
- Robertson Plastics will assist with documentation but cannot issue a refund
9. Backorders
- Cash customers: backorders are automatically cancelled
- B2B (Net Terms) customers:
- Backorders may be cancelled for stock items
- Special order items must be cancelled through your salesperson
No substitutions will be made without approval.
10. Order Cancellations
Orders cannot be cancelled or refunded if:
- Material has been cut
- Special order items have shipped
Orders cancelled after processing or packaging may be subject to restocking fees.
11. Product Use & Suitability
- Customers are solely responsible for determining product suitability for their application
- Any guidance provided by Robertson Plastics is general in nature only
No warranty is provided for fitness for a particular purpose.
12. Chemicals & Handling
- Products such as adhesives, coatings, and resins are sensitive to handling and environmental conditions
- SDS (Safety Data Sheets) are available upon request
Products damaged due to freezing, overheating, or improper handling are not eligible for return.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Liability is limited to the purchase price of the product
- Robertson Plastics is not liable for:
- Lost profits
- Production downtime
- Indirect or consequential damages
14. Privacy Note
Customer contact information may be used for internal communications and marketing.
Robertson Plastics does not sell or share customer data with third parties.
